Coronavirus: market update

Global coronavirus cases exceeded 434,500 with over 111,800 recoveries. The number of people confirmed to have died as result of the coronavirus has now surpassed 19,600.   Italy, the second most affected country reported 69,176 cases. However accordingly to the Emergency Commissioner and Civil Protection Chief Angelo Borrelli the number of new infections dwindled for a third consecutive day.
The situation is also getting worse in other European countries as Spain confirmed 47,610 cases and Germany 34,009.
The number of infected people in the United States grew to almost 55,000 and it is the third most affected country in the world.   The most deaths caused by the coronavirus were recorded in Italy, namely 6,820, followed by China 3,281, Spain 3,434 and Iran 2,077. Yesterday in Spain, 504 people died of the virus in one day.   In Madrid, due to the increasing number of deaths, the ice rink in the city was transformed into a temporary morgue. Low temperatures are expected to protect bodies until funeral homes are able to bury or cremate them.   Britain’s heir to the throne, Prince Charles, has tested positive for the coronavirus, according to a statement from his London household. His wife, Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall, has also been tested but does not have the virus.
